Wings of Arizona

This statue can be found near the main airport in Phoenix, Arizona. It is compelling and beautiful.

For a brief moment waiting at a stoplight in the car in which I was riding I had the opportunity to capture this view with the lens directly out of the passenger window. The statue captures man's dream of flight quite well, don't you think?

Hi Maria, this statue of Icarus is absolutely magnificent. What a lovely shot taken from your car window. A happy circumstance indeed.

Beautiful shot. You can almost feel the range of motion, or the desire to do so. It must seem even more so in person.

That's a great picture. We were in Phoenix for a couple days in April of 2007 but I didn't see this statue. Thanks for sharing it with us. Maybe we'll have to wait until after the holidays for that trip to Carls Jr & Pt Defiance. Linda just down the road a piece...
